Outfit Favourites: April

Here are my favourite looks of this month. To see what inspired me in April go HERE.

I know that in these kind of posts I don't really talk much, the pictures do it for me, but as this is about inspiration, how gorgeous looked Catherine Middleton yesterday?! The wedding and evening dresses were absolutely beautiful, and I love that she chose McQueen! And as I am talking about the royal wedding... have you watched it? What was your favourite part if you did? Mine was when the two left alone the Palace on the Aston Martin like every normal newly-weds :) of course not all have a great car hehe. And how gorgeous were also Prince Harry and Philippa Middleton? I guess I was more excited about this wedding than I expected to be, but it could be because I saw the Queen on Thursday evening! Yup, my friend dragged me to the Buckingham Palace after we did some shopping to see the people camping there and then there were some people waiting outside, we asked why, and then we stayed a bit just in time to see the Queen leaving the Palace to some event. My impressions? She's so so tiny and smiley and all I could see was white hair :)

A green staple

It's been quite sunny all the time (with a few pouring rain downfall last week) and I've been so lazy to take pictures since my boyfriend went back home. I have many outfits in my head but can't get myself to actually  pu them together and photograph them. The temperatures dropped (although it really still is sunny) and since I've lived with no tights last week, it's kind of hard to go back to wearing them again, so it's been only jeans for me since Monday. Luckily I have a few outfit shots to post and this is one of them.
This jacket is, along with my denim jacket, one of my Spring staple items. As Spring here is much colder than the one I had last year at Madeira (or maybe I didn't even had a Spring, just went right into Summer, couldn't wear jackets!) I am rather enjoying needing to wear some light jackets now. And this one, that was a gift from by boyfriend a few years ago, seems to go with everything!
Do you have a Spring staple jacket/outerwear?

Save Yourself

This is what I wore on Easter Sunday, which was an uncommon one, full of sightseeing and walking with my boyfriend through London. The only Easter-y thing that I had was a home cooked turkey roast dinner, gosh how I missed some home roasted potatoes! YUM!
Well, these pictures were taken on some of the several places I went to on the last day of my boyfriend here, points for who can say where I was! Not that hard... ;)
And, about the title of this post, it's actually the song from Sense Field, that was part of the soundtrack of the series Roswell. It was something that truly marked my teenage years, ohh the nostalgia... In Portugal it showed relatively late and I'd stay awake every Thursday to watch it on TV! I have the cd of the soundtrack stored somewhere either at home or at my boyfriend's house, must try to find it the next time I go there!

Coral t-shirt, V&A and Hyde Park

Happy Easter to the ones that celebrate it! I'll spend my Easter Sunday walking and walking and doing more touristy things as my boyfriend is still here. But meanwhile here are some pictures of last Thursday. These are from The Victoria & Albert Museum (1, 2 and 3) and Hyde Park (4 and 5). London with such high temperatures and packed with tourists from the Easter Holidays is insane, not in a very good way, but it is so nice to have some warm weather. I have my face really tanned, and with my glasses marks, boo. The best places to be are definitely the parks...
This t-shirt was bought at Primark Oxford St, another place that is always packed (and I hate big crowds) and where I only can go during the week in the early morning. Lately I've been obsessed with coral and this was a cheap way of feeding my hunger for it.
Again, Happy Easter!

Things to Love: Polkadots

 H&M black tights
Pamela Mann teal tights
Vintage black and white top/jacket
Zara dress
Calçados Guimarães shoes

I love polkadots. Here are a few polka-dotted items from my closet, and an outfit post with my favourite polkadot dress that hasn't been worn as much as it should be. So I took advantage of the lovely weather to wear it simple with a pair of ballet flats and my selfmade locket necklace.

First set of photos taken in February at Madeira, second set yesterday in London, all by me.

PS: My boyfriend is here till Monday and I know I won't have much time for blogging but I'll try to write some posts at night!

Set Fire To The Rain

This is another outfit I had stored still from before leaving Madeira (my hair is much longer now! and I still have more pictures from then, oops!). Red is my favourite colour to wear, but blue is my all time favourite colour so I had to break all the redness with some muted denim and chambray blues. I also don't wear heels very often (almost never to tell the truth) but as I only brought flats to London I miss having heels to choose from. I am eyeing this pair so I might be getting them.
I have to thank you all for your feedback on my red week! I might be doing something similar again in the future.

PS: You can't believe how warm it is right now, like 24ºC, in London, in April!! I'll probably wear no tights tomorrow yay!

Red Week #6

Here's the last "Red Week" outfit! I had to include some trousers in this, since I don't actually wear skirts and dresses all the time, only most of the time. With the only repeated item being my new favourite jacket I don't really mind, it's a remix!! So that's a wrap for this feature. What did you think about it? Should I do something like this more often? Although posting everyday was a bit nervewrecking, I am gladly back to posting every other day or every 2 days.

What's your favourite? Mine is definitely the day 5 outfit!

Red Week #5

When I had the idea for the Red Week last Monday I didn't have in mind the current Japan situation. So despite being a coincidence that Chictopia started the "Wear Red Wear Hope" campaign on the same day I posted the first "Red Week" outfit, I think it is a great opportunity to support this cause. All you have to do is wear red and upload your look, you can donate 10$  and spread the word about this initiative. Chictopia will match up donations up to $1000. Do it here!
So this is the look I uploaded on Chictopia (the first one for a long time, I've been kind of away from it), but I just wanted to mix these somehow unexpected materials, I mean, denim, silk and corduroy in one look? I think it's kinda awesome.

Red Week #4

Not that it's sunny here, it's not, but I finally did some DIY on this Accessorize thrifted hat (just took off the string that came with it and put on a red ribbon), and thought it would look cute with this outfit. Maybe the sun will shine again. Well it's supposed to this weekend!
Excuse the hand grabbing the hat in every single picture, it kept falling into weird shapes and hiding my face.

Happy Friday everyone!
